fastfrosset uden at én eneste ukrudts-spire kunne trænge igennem.
at grave vildtvokset ukrudt op.
for længe.
kunne trylle mig ind i.
The winter passed and spring came very late. When I cycled down to the Gardens in March , they were covered in snow . There was temperatures below freezing and snow for the entire month of March, but I was pleased that my little garden was frozen without the possibility of ANY weed germination. I had recently had surgery, which meant that I couldn´t do any heavy work for eight weeks.
I had planned to lay weedmats across the garden to keep the weeds down until I was ready to start planting . I was NOT going to begin the season again digging up wildly grown weeds . But the long winter came to my rescue and gave me the long break that I needed.
I enjoyed the frost, which for the other gardenkeepers lasted much too long. I cycled down to the Gardens in early April. The sun was shining and it was warm in the sun on the patio by the common house . The Foreman and his wife were there too, and we sat on the patio and chatted. My patios lay beautifully at each end of my garden, all the snow had melted , and small yellow Eranthis - which I had no idea were there - were twinkling on the dark, frozen soil of my garden, and I was struck again by the very special sacred calm that the Gardens conjure in me.
